The idea
Carbon is the foundation of life. It is also the element that forms a diamond. MEMORAE brings these truths together—transforming the carbon held in what you treasure into a one-of-one diamond: your baby’s first blanket, kept close long after those first cuddles; the very first letter in which your husband declared his love; the hockey jersey your child wore to victory after countless early mornings and late-night practices. More than keepsakes, they are physical traces of a life deeply lived—carried forward in a one-of-one diamond and a bespoke jewel designed around your story.
Our processThe process
From your cherished artifact to a one-of-one diamond and a jewel designed exclusively for your story, every stage brings together science, bespoke design and craftsmanship. Your stone is graded by an internationally recognized gemological laboratory, with its report accompanying your finished jewel. The complete journey is expected to take approximately three months, depending on the artifact, diamond specification and final design.

01
We begin with your story and a meaningful item—flowers, fabric, a letter or another carbon-bearing keepsake—and explore the jewel you imagine.

02
Its carbon is carefully isolated, refined and prepared for crystal growth under controlled conditions.

03
Over time, pressure and heat arrange that carbon into a true crystalline diamond structure.

04
Expert hands cut and polish your stone for proportion, symmetry and brilliance. The finished stone is then submitted to an internationally recognized gemological laboratory for grading.

05
Together, we develop a unique jewellery design around your story and diamond. Once you approve the design, your jewel is crafted and the stone carefully set.

06
Your bespoke jewel arrives with your diamond’s grading report from an internationally recognized gemological laboratory and a MEMORAE dossier documenting the artifact, diamond and design journey.

The science
Our controlled process transforms purified carbon into a real diamond crystal with the same physical, chemical and optical properties as a mined natural diamond. After cutting and polishing, each stone is submitted to an internationally recognized independent gemological laboratory for grading and an individual report. Alongside this scientific journey, we develop a bespoke jewellery design with you, shaped by your story, and craft the setting for your graded diamond. MEMORAE separately documents the artifact’s provenance and the journey to your finished jewel.
One of one
Your diamond begins with your keepsake. Your design begins with your story. Together, they become a jewel created exclusively for you.

Stories to inspire
The objects we keep are rarely valuable because of what they cost. They are valuable because they were there—holding the words, warmth and courage of a moment we never want to lose. The stories below are illustrative, created to inspire the possibilities of a personal MEMORAE commission.

The finished piecesLove · An anniversary
On the morning of their wedding, Daniel left a letter outside Grace’s door. It was only one page: a quiet promise to choose her in the ordinary days as faithfully as he did on that extraordinary one.
For their tenth anniversary, they returned to the letter together. Its carbon became two MEMORAE diamonds, set into coordinated bracelets—one for him and one for her. Different in expression, yet born from the same promise, the pair celebrates not only the day they married but every year of life they have created side by side.
“What began as a promise now catches the light beside us each day—a memory no longer behind us, but still becoming.”

Love · A proposal
On their first trip together, Noah and Elise watched the sun fall over the coast. She tucked a fallen bougainvillea into their map, laughing that they should keep one small piece of the day. For Noah, it became the moment he first imagined every journey after it with her.
When he was ready to propose, he chose that pressed flower as the origin of her MEMORAE diamond. Its carbon was transformed into a one-of-one stone, then cut and set into an engagement ring designed exclusively around their story—so the question about their future carried the physical trace of the memory that first made him certain.
“I didn’t want to choose only a diamond. I wanted to give her the moment I knew.”

The finished piecesNew life · Her first blanket
Grace came home wrapped in a cream muslin blanket chosen months before her mother knew the sound of her cry. It held first naps, midnight feeds and the small, sleepy weight that changed the shape of their world.
A small cutting became two MEMORAE diamonds, with a bespoke necklace and bracelet designed to tell their shared story. Her mother wears a heart-shaped diamond beside Grace’s pavé-set “G”; the other begins Grace’s own bracelet as a tiny heart charm. Designed to grow with her, the bracelet can welcome new charms on the days that shape her life—each milestone adding another chapter to the story she carries.
“The day she was born was our first chapter. As she grows, every meaningful moment can find its place beside it.”

The finished piecesAchievement · The tassel
For Elias, graduation was more than a ceremony. It held the years of late-night study, the exams that tested him and the quiet determination his parents had watched become confidence.
They chose threads from his graduation tassel to create MEMORAE diamonds, then commissioned a bespoke pair of cufflinks for his first day of work. Fastened at his cuffs, the stones would carry the effort behind his achievement—and remind him, whenever the next challenge arrived, of what he was already capable of doing.
“We wanted his first day to begin with proof of how far his own hard work had already carried him.”

The finished piecesFamily · Her seventieth birthday
For as long as her children could remember, their mother had collected butterflies—each one chosen for the colour, delicacy and quiet wonder she saw in it. For her seventieth birthday, they selected one treasured butterfly from the collection that had filled their childhood home.
Its carbon became two MEMORAE diamonds, set into a pair of sculptural gold earrings inspired by its wings. Worn separately, each is graceful in its own right; brought together, they become a single butterfly brooch—a jewel that carries her lifelong sense of wonder in two beautiful forms.
“She taught us to notice beauty in the smallest things. We wanted her gift to carry that wonder forward.”
